My teaching values.

EMPOWERING

I empower my students to make decisions in class that feel good and right for them. I encourage my students to go deeply within and intuitively listen to what they need. That may be pausing to take a rest in Balasana / Child’s Pose. That may mean choosing to release the pose early, to practise a different variation that I have offered or even deciding not to practise the pose at all. Your body, your yoga practise, your choice.

INCLUSIVE

I greatly honour that each of our individual bodies are unique and diverse. I teach my classes in respect and consideration of this fact, without a ‘one size fits all’ approach. I provide options and variations where relevant during class, to ensure all of my students feel included. I inspire my students to approach their yoga practise with a sense of kindness, with acceptance and no judgement of any bodily limitations. Let us bask in the knowledge that we are enough, just as we are.

INSIGHTFUL

Subtle, yet highly valuable personal insights can appear during our yoga practise in several ways. For example, this may be experienced through self enquiry, observing our thoughts as they arise and noticing the tension we hold in our body when in ‘uncomfortable’ or ‘challenging’ poses. I weave these cues and techniques into my yoga classes for my students. I also enjoy sharing small nuggets of wisdom from books, real life experiences or inspiring quotes that I have discovered.
